أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية وشركاؤها أن مجمع ناصر الطبي ومستشفيات الأقصى والخير في قطاع غزة توقفت عن العمل تمامًا بسبب انقطاع إمدادات للكهرباء والماء والصرف الصحي والأكسجين.
وأوضح ممثل المنظمة في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة ريتشارد بيبركورن, في مؤتمر صحفي, أن فريق المنظمة وثق تعرض مستودع مجمع ناصر الطبي الذي يزود العديد من المستشفيات لأضرار بالغة طالت الإمدادات والألواح الشمسية ومولدات الطاقة وأجهزة الأشعة السينية المتنقلة، والمواد الجراحية والمعقمات مما يعني انهيار العمود الفقري للنظام الصحي في جنوب غزة.
وأفاد أن 11 مستشفى فقط يعمل بشكل جزئي في القطاع، 5 في الشمال و 6 في الجنوب، و 25 مستشفى متوقف عن العمل وأن العمليات الإنسانية للمنظمة تواجه الرفض أو التأخير أو وضع العراقيل والمخاطر المتعددة، داعيًا إلى ضرورة وقف إطلاق النار من أجل إصلاح النظام الصحي في غزة وإعادة تأهيله.
